About Us
Nice To Meet You
JourneyOcity started as a travel blog and gradually revealed itself to be something so much more.
I’m a mid-50s engineer who has spent decades building commercial, military, and scientific sonar systems. Years of coaching (and driving to) youth sports, solving problems, and optimizing everything from code to circuit boards eventually left me drained, uninspired, and, honestly, somewhat lost. Somewhere along the way, life became efficient… but a little too narrow. Intentional living and travel have helped reopen that lens, not just to new places, but to how I wanted to live the years ahead.
This site is about that process.
JourneyOcity is a practical exploration of midlife reinvention. Sometimes that looks like budget travel or local micro-adventures. Sometimes it’s analog tools, personal finance, fitness, style, or learning how to slow down without giving up momentum. I’m not an influencer, coach, or guru. I’m someone actively testing ideas and sharing what works, what doesn’t, and why.
If you’re hopeful, a bit burned out, and wondering what the next chapter could look like, you’re in the right place.
Welcome to JourneyOcity.
